Formatting comments

Comments on BetaSeries are written as plain text. There are still a few ways to enrich them.

Hiding a spoiler

To hide a passage that gives away the plot, wrap it between [spoiler] and [/spoiler]:

1. Write your comment as usual.
2. Right before the passage to hide, type [spoiler] (with the brackets).
3. Write the text to hide.
4. Right after, type [/spoiler] — don't forget the slash / in the closing tag.

For example, [spoiler]Jon Snow survives in the end[/spoiler] will show up as a « Reveal the spoiler » button: the text only appears if the reader clicks it.

Hiding works in the comments window of a page (show, season, episode or movie), which you open with See all N comments or Write a comment. In the list of latest comments shown on the page itself, a comment containing a spoiler is hidden entirely: readers have to click "See the comment?" to read it.

Adding a link

Simply paste the address (starting with https://) into your comment: it will become a clickable link. You can also display some text instead of the address with [url=https://www.betaseries.com]Link to BetaSeries[/url].

Mentioning a member

Type @ followed by a member's username (for example @betaseries): a link to their profile is added and they receive a notification.

Adding a GIF

BetaSeries Club members can add a GIF to their comments with the GIF button in the comment field, which lets them search millions of GIFs on GIPHY.

Emojis

There is no longer a BetaSeries-specific list of smileys: simply use the emojis from your keyboard (on a computer, Windows + . on Windows or Ctrl + Cmd + Space on macOS).
